Located on the eastern edge of San Francisco’s Bay Area, Livermore is home to over 90,000 people making it the most populous city in the Tri-Valley. The city encompasses 26.44 square miles and maintains a mild climate year round. It is conveniently located 45 miles east of San Francisco, 38 miles southeast of Berkeley, and 60 miles north of Santa Cruz. Additionally, Livermore is near three international airports: Oakland (OAK)- 28 miles, San Jose (SJC)- 30 miles, and San Francisco (SFO)- 45 miles. The city itself also has its own Livermore Municipal Airport that serves private, business, corporate tenants, and customers.
With the city’s comprehensive public transportation system, one can quickly and economically travel to over 50 destinations in the Bay Area. The nearest Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station is about 8 miles away and the city’s downtown has an Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) station. The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District has 9 elementary schools, 2 K-8 schools, 3 middle schools, 3 high schools, and 2 alternative schools.
